Real Estate Taxes for Property owners and Payroll Taxes for Williams Township Residents – The Williams Township Staff cannot answer any tax related questions or accept any tax payments.

Real Estate Taxes for Property Owners 

You will receive 3 real estate tax bills per year, County, Township, and School district. The County collects their own real estate tax bills. Jenny Frindt, Tax Collector, collects the Williams Township Real Estate Tax Bills and the Wilson Area School District Real Estate Tax Bills. Williams Township Real Estate Tax                            (Millage rate is 2.25)

This tax bill is mailed February 1st each year and covers January 1st – December 31st of that

Wilson Area School District Real Estate Tax                (Millage rate is 60.467.  for 2023-2024)

This tax bill is mailed July 1st each year and covers July 1st of that year to June 30th of the following year.

  • In-person collection dates will be listed on your Williams Township and Wilson Area School District Real Estate Tax Bills as well as who to make your check or money order payable to as they have different payees and the mailing address if you choose to return payment via USPS. NO cash accepted. If you prefer to drop off your payment, you may use the Dropbox on the wall of the Municipal Building which is to the left of the front doors. When requesting a receipt, please include BOTH bill portions (keep for records AND return with payment) as well as a self-addressed stamped envelope. In-person collections will be held in the lower level of the community building which is across the parking lot of the left of the Municipal Building.
  • Pennsylvania has a Property Tax or Rent Rebate Program. For more information and to check on eligibility requirements, please visit revenue.pa.gov. You may also call Jenny with questions.
  • The Wilson Area School District- has a property tax rebate for homeowners that qualify for the state rebate. For more information, please visit www.wilsonareasd.org. The for, instructions, and where to return the form are listed on their website. You may also call Jenny with questions.

Northampton County Real Estate Tax                         (Millage rate is 10.8 for 2024)

This tax bill is mailed in January and covers January 1st – December 31st of that year. The Revenue Department at Northampton County collects this real estate tax bill. Please call the Revenue division at 610-829-6579. Alternatively, if you have questions regarding your assessment amount, please call the Assessment Department at Northampton County at 610-829-6155.

Northampton County – also handles ALL mailing address changes for all real estate tax bills. Please visit northamptoncounty.org and search address change. Complete the form and return to Northampton County per the instructions on the form.

Northampton County – Also handles all applications for the Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion. Please visit their website listed above for more information by doing a search for homestead exclusion. 

                                         

Payroll Taxes for Williams Township Residents                                                                                              

Earned Income Tax: (1%)                                                                                                          This tax is paid by all residents of the township who are currently working. If your place of employment is not withholding this tax, please contact Keystone Collections Group, Taxpayer Service:  866-539-1100

Act 32 - Local Earned Income Tax                                  Withholding Reform Becomes Effective                      Statewide January 1st, 2012

Reminder - Each business that employs individuals at worksites in PA, including those who work from home, is required to withhold the applicable local earned income tax from employees´ wages and remit the tax to the appropriate tax officer.

Under Act 32, employers are required to withhold the higher of the employee´s resident earned income tax amount (rate of total resident EIT where they reside) vs. the employee´s municipal non-resident earned income tax amount (rate of non-resident EIT where they are employed). Employers are required to obtain information in the Residency Certification Form for every new employee and employee who has a change of address.
